Walking in the Leersumse Veld

The Leersumse Veld is an area with ponds and heather in the National Park "Utrechtse Heuvelrug" where we live.

From the later Middle Ages up to the 20th century, most of the area was like this. Sheep kept the area clear and provided manure for the farmers along the Rhine river close by.

These days, cows roam through the field to keep it free from trees.

Seems the fall is already making its first moves...

We're having a good time.
